Wildtracks Lodge offers fully-serviced, self-catering accommodation. This means that although guests bring their Lodge highlitesown food and drinks, meals can be prepared by the Wildtracks staff. For lodge guests, all cutlery, crockery and kitchen facilities are provided. Chalets and tents are serviced daily and all linen is provided. Lodge guests have full access to all facilities in the main lodge area. Fridge space is available on the boma for chalet guests to keep their drinks cold. Tea and coffee are always available on the boma.

All lodge accommodation is booked and charged per unit (chalet/tent) per night. We have a single tier pricing system and affordable rates are calculated to suit the domestic and regional market.

Chalets and tents

We have two large chalets, subdivided into smaller units. In the two chalets there are four double rooms en suite and four twin rooms en suite. $110 per unit per night*

Take two rooms as a four sleeper family unit for $195 per night.

Carmine, Malachite, Fish Eagle & Hornbill – In addition to the en suite accommodations, we offer four dorm style meru tents that can sleep up to four people, serviced by an ablution block within the lodge grounds.
$25 per person per night, (bedding is not included)*

We also have a luxury en suite tented chalet, set in a secluded part of the property; this venue offers a bit more privacy. It is aptly named Bushbuck after the often solitary and shy antelope commonly found in the Zambezi valley. $115 per unit per night*

Whole lodge rates

For large group and block bookings, Wildtracks can accommodate 34 people comfortably*. We charge $775 per night* for exclusive use of facilities and accommodation in the chalets (*up to 18 guests accommodated in the chalets).

Additional guests within your party can book a dorm tents at our normal rates.

Camping hilitesThree large, private campsites are also available for those looking for a closer encounter with our natural surroundings. These are separate from the lodge and campers need to be self-sufficient.

We charge $15 pppn for guests over 12 years and $8 pppn for children under 12.

Hippo and Otter campsites are located on the river’s edge and offer spectacular views of the Zambezi. Croco and Mukuhu are situated a bit back from the river and are nestled in the shady riverine forest, ideal for bird watching.

Access to the pool, situated in the lodge is possible from 10:00 – 12:00 and from 15:00 – 17:00 daily.

Sites have power and water and a shower, toilet and scullery. There is a staff member on hand to help you setup and assist you around the camp from 08:00 – 16:00.

Please note Wildtracks does not operate a shop, bar or restaurant. Make sure you bring everything you need.

Ice, firewood and charcoal are available at an extra charge.

Boat hire & activities

Boats (Lovely T, Njovu) – We have one T-Craft 640 (Lovely T) and one pontoon boat (Njovu) available for river cruises and fishing trips. Njovu and Lovely T both seat a maximum of eight adults. Boats can be hired on a half or full day basis, with a coxswain/fishing guide. While we don’t allow our boats to be hired without a coxswain, there is also plenty of mooring space for guests who bring their own boats. (Angling licences are required by law in Zambia. Fishing from lodge-owned boats is covered by the Wildtracks angling licence, guests using their own boats are responsible for all applicable licences). $130 per half -day (four hours or part thereof, first 20L fuel included)*

Fishing Tackle Hire – Basic tackle can be hired at $7 per rigged rod. Additional tackle from $4. Lost tackle will be charged for.
Worms – $3 per container
Launch fee for private boats (in and out) – $25 per boat

Sunset cruises – For those who don’t want a full session on the river, you can book a sunset cruise or sundowners on a sandbar. The sandbars change every season, so ask us where the good sundowner spots are. $65 (two hours or part thereof)*

River Guides – If you have your own boat and are not familiar with the Lower Zambezi or want someone to help point out the best fishing spots you can book a guide to accompany you and show you around. (Subject to availability) $20 (four hours or any part thereof)*

Transfer from Gwabi Lodge to Wildtracks – Transfers by boat from Gwabi to Wildtracks can be arranged. Maximum capacity for this transfer is 4 people with luggage or 8 with no luggage. Please book in advance. Note: Parking at Gwabi is not included. Please enquire at Gwabi for their daily parking rate. $165 each way*

Baobab Climb – Let the kids (or adults) burn off some energy and climb our baobab tree.  $10 pp (two hours or part thereof)*

Bushwalks – We have several trails that meander through the riverine forest and mopani woodland around the lodge. $10 pp for guided walks* (two hours or part thereof)

For safety reasons, supervision by lodge staff is mandatory for all our activities.
