Outdoor Education

KidsWildtracks has run outdoor education and leadership courses in the Zambezi valley for more than a decade. Primarily aimed at Grades 5 to 12, the Wildtracks school camps are now a much anticipated, annual fixture on a number of  school calendars.  We have also hosted several very successful International Award expeditions in the valley. Our school camps give children the opportunity to experience the rich and unique environment of theZambeziValley, on our large and safe property, with numerous trails meandering among the baobabs and mopani woodland.

Programme of Activities – Varied, challenging and action packed!

Wildtracks strives to provide opportunities for all students to shine. Focused mainly on physical eductation, creativity, science, maths, biology and geography, our programme keeps students busy and challenged for the full duration of their stay.

There is also a heavy emphasis on community and team work, with many of our secondary interactions design to bring students together to work well in groups, developing a strong sense of unity by the end of the week.

“This was an excellent trip for our Form1 students. Activities were well organised and pitched at the right age. All the students had a chance to excel in something, whether using their brains or skills at logical thinking or just being totally without fear.”

Nicki Zulu, International School of Lusaka

By the end of a camp, we aim for participants to have developed a greater awareness of their relationships with their environment, themselves and those around them.

Three to five day courses are offered for groups of all ages, fully catered. However, if anyone has special dietary requirements  we need to know well in advance to facilitate catering. Water, juice, tea or coffee are always available.  Youth groups are accommodated in our dorm tents, with additional accommodation available for participating teachers. Courses can be tailored to meet specific needs depending on the age and interests of your group. The school group season runs from March through November with camps held during the week. Since many schools have annual trips to Wildtracks, it is advisable to book your trip well in advance.

We also have a limited number of opportunities for people who want to volunteer abroad to help out with our school camps or other community projects. To find out more about volunteering at Wildtracks have a look at our Workaway profile or contact us directly for more details.
